DIY Cake stand

Ok, so I really, and I mean really, wanted to get a cake stand, so I have been spending time (maybe too much time if I'm honest) looking at cake stands online and as yet I have not bought one. Altho I may still do. Once I started looking I found nicer and nicer ones and even tho I don't really need one, I may be getting a cake stand with a dome! We'll see, so watch this space!!

But in the mean time I saw that a few people had DIYed it and made their own out of various plates and vases etc, so I thought- y not give it a go and went on a rummage in the kitchen, and heres what I came up with. Not bad I don't think. Tho I would like it to be higher, but u can't have everything!

I used a white dish and an upturned little bowl, doesn't look too bad even if I do say so myself!

New Outfit

Ok, so I went shopping the other day and picked up a few bits, the most excitin of which are my new pearls and a new charm necklace (I always try to resist buying jewellery as I already make so much myself, but sometimes I just cannot resist!)

But here I have dug out a top that I haven't worn in ages and paired it with the new skirt I have made and with the jewellery too I think it makes for quite a nice look.

Finished Christmas socks

Knitted Christmas socks

I have made socks before (not as complicated as it sounds) but this is my first attempt at patterned socks.

The first sock I made looked ok, but I had a bit of a problem in that it wasn't stretchy (due to the 'floats' as apparently their called, which stopped it stretching) so this became a stocking instead, a nice stocking though!

So second attempt I looked up about floats and pattern knitting to get some tips on what to do about the problem. Now one sock down and almost through the next, and they are now stretchy yipeee!

Chocolate cake

I do like a good chocolate cake and I made this one with white chocolate icing. Was very yummy (though not as neat as it could have been!)

Another Polka Dot Skirt

After making a blue polka dot skirt I thought I'd make another one, so heres my white and black polka dot skirt.

Mouse- handmade with dungarees

I decided I wanted to make a mouse. I couldn't find a pattern that was for what I wanted, so I made one up. I then used recycled fabrics and stuffing to make this little mouse.

Long necklace

I made a new long necklace in black and white. Its quite hard to show a good picture, but have taken a few close ups as well.

Handmade beads

Heres some beads I made recently and have just painted for a new bracelet, I'll post that also when I have finished it. Think vintage and green spots... watch this space.
